Midtown Express S.H. 183 reconstruction work will affect Irving traffic

Ramp closures, traffic lane switches and bridge work are expected to increase dramatically along the S.H. 183 corridor within the next few weeks. Those who live and work in the City of Irving, as well as visitors, are reminded they can obtain the latest construction news from the DriveMidtown.com website’s Closures and Traffic Changes page. 

Notable S.H. 183 construction work includes:

• The westbound S.H. 183 off-ramp to Grauwyler Road is closed through July 18.
• Permanent closure of the eastbound S.H. 183 off-ramp to O’Connor Road, beginning July 7. Traffic now exits at the MacArthur Boulevard off-ramp.
• Full closure of north- and southbound MacArthur Boulevard at S.H. 183 from 9 p.m. Friday, July 15 through 6 a.m., Monday, July 18 (full weekend closure). Motorists are advised to use O’Connor Road or Story Road as alternates.
• The left (inside) lanes east- and westbound on S.H. 183 over MacArthur Boulevard will be closed 9 p.m. Friday, July 15 through 6 a.m., Monday, July 18 (full weekend closure).
