Pedestrian Killed After Disabled Vehicle Forces Them Onto I-30 TEXpress Ramp in Grand Prairie
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - A pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV Wednesday evening, Oct. 7, 2026, while walking along an Interstate 30 TEXpress entrance ramp in Grand Prairie after their vehicle became disabled, according to police.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 7:50 p.m. on the entrance ramp to the eastbound I-30 TEXpress lanes near MacArthur Boulevard.
According to the Grand Prairie Police Department, the pedestrian had been traveling in a vehicle that became disabled along the highway.
The individual exited the vehicle and began walking along the entrance ramp when they were struck by the driver of a Kia SUV.
Grand Prairie Fire Department paramedics responded to the crash and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
The SUV driver was not injured and remained at the scene, cooperating with investigators.
Police have not released the pedestrian's name, age or gender. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the deceased after notifying their next of kin.
Investigators have not disclosed why the pedestrian's vehicle became disabled or whether visibility, speed or other factors contributed to the collision.
The Grand Prairie Police Department continues to investigate the crash. No charges or citations were announced in the initial report.
